Schatten haschen
From letter to image – from word to object and back. This show is a celebration of the library and museum as an inspirational force. Browsing and research accompany any artist project. In this show artists Barbara Beyer, Marie Therese Ross and Sayako Sugawara investigate their personal creative journeys in libraries and museums. These three artists, with studios based in the Borough of Camden, embrace materiality and the object. They sculpt light, clay and wood, employing photographic processes, traditional skills and experimental approaches. Drawing, sketching and developmental sculptural sketches are an integral part of all three artist’s work and play an important part in this show.
