Genetic Moo
www.geneticmoo.com Genetic Moo is a digital art group. We build living installations in pixels and light. Since 2006 we have been developing a series of works which present the audience with fantastical sea-life. The creatures are collaged from video and photographs of our own bodies and are overtly sexual. They are brought to life using hand written computer code and their behaviour is ever-changing. They vary in size from the tiny Animacules to the all encompassing Mother, and can be shown in both interactive and non-interactive versions. We’re interested in mutation and modification, polymorphism and perversity, mythology and biology. We aim to set up tensions : What is the viewer encountering? Is it human or animal? Dead or alive? Prehistoric of futuristic? Charming or threatening? Is it beautiful or disgusting? |
