Drawing, what could be simpler?
It allows me to see what I’m thinking and exposes me to myself, my presence within the world. Drawing which engages your whole being as faith and as the Existentialist would say, I believe because it is absurd.
I do not draw pre the event, such as working towards with a preparatory doodle, nor do I draw after the event as a finished idea, because that would be both empirical and materialist definitions.
To me drawing is an attitude rather than a fixed tool, drawing as line describing space and geometry rather than edge – a process of being searched out, rather than toward finished delineation, discovering meaning through the subject, a dialogue, as the event of description rather than the description itself.
